Macross Frontier Ichiban Kuji VF-25F Battroid

Cute is definitely in.

It's been 25 years since Macross originally aired and now the series has been refreshed for the new generation with Macross Frontier. The new series keeps to the original's receipe with a number of hints to the original series such as similar Macross captains, a love triangle, and singing. The main variable space fighter/mecha flown by the main characters, the VF-25 Messiah, also holds a number of similarities as the VF-1 from the original Macross such as the move back to a variable wing design.

If you can't afford the transformable 1:60 sized toys then there's these super deformed prize toys.  These were only available in Japan as a prize where you buy a ticket and you could win a prize that ranged from large Ranka figurine, these small mechas, or some dishware.  Since I collect robots, I bought all the mecha toys and here's the first one, VF-25F:

It can be broken into a few pieces which are interchangable with Ichiban Kuji Armoured VF-25S

These Ichiban Kuji mecha toys have little to no articulation since they get blocked by other body pieces.  They're OK fine and look great on a desktop. There wasn't much demand for these figured when they were released and there wasn't that much stock either so they're very pricey on eBay.

Eric Toy Score: 2 out of 5
